When Trevor’s great grandpa first arrived in America via Ellis Island, a customs agent declared his surname too long and requested the family change it. This caused a nexus event which branched the Sacred Timeline, so gramps changed the family name to Ali in honor of mischievous Asgardian Alligator Loki from the alternate Marvel universe.
